Company Descriptions

All company members are held to a higher standard and are expected to take 2 additional core classes on top of company classes to ensure that standard is met. Future company members are determined by skill level and determination; not necessarily by age.

Lil’ Elements

Lil’ Elements is our grade school/ middle school level Hip Hop company and was formed in 2011. These extraordinary young dancers work incredibly hard and continue to push themselves to the next level in both performance and competition. They have made an amazing addition to our dance family by holding our older students to a higher standard of dedication and leadership. They have also competed in Coeur D'alene, Idaho for many years. 

Elements United

Elements United is our middle school/ high school level Hip Hop company and was formed in 2013. This company has prepared many students with work ethic, accountability and comradery over the years. They have performed throughout the Flathead Valley and have also competed very successfully in Coeur D'alene, Idaho.

Elements Collide

Elements Collide is our high school level Hip Hop company and was formed in 2009. This company has given a lifetime of memories to many young dancers in the valley and the tradition has been continuous. They have performed all over the Flathead Valley and competed in Coeur D'alene, Idaho for several years; inspiring others to not only get active, but to be fearless and confident enough to express themselves. 

Elements Elite

Elements Elite is composed of our top Hip Hop company members and was formed in 2015. This is a select group of dancers from all of the Hip Hop companies that have shown great  dedication and strive to pursue the most throughout their years at Dance Elements. Their expectations as an Elite member is to always be the leader in all classes as well as their other companies. These students truly are our overachievers in all things in and outside of the studio. Elements Elite has been very successful in competition in both Coeur D'alene, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.

Mini Movement

Mini Movement is our top grade school/ middle school level Jazz and Lyrical company and was formed in 2017. Following in the footsteps of our Movement Company, Mini Movement is an ambitious and driven group of dancers. They have exceedingly surpassed our expectations in technique, storytelling and the portrayal of emotion. Even though they are young dancers they are incredibly hungry to be the best and they have proven that competing in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

Jr. Movement

Jr. Movement is our middle school/ high school level Jazz and Lyrical company and was formed in 2014. These are our up and coming Jazz and Lyrical dancers with incredible dedication to the art of movement and technique. This group has been driven by our older company Movement to push themselves to the fullest in every practice which has also given them great success competing in Coeur D'alene, Idaho. 

Movement

Movement is our top middle school/ high school level Jazz and Lyrical company and was formed in 2013. This incredible group is continuously challenged to use movement to express emotions, to portray the meaning of music or to tell a story. This group is just like our Elements Elite company in that they are considered to be our highest level in Jazz and Lyrical. They are pushed to the limits in choreography and rehearsal which has led them to great success in competition in Coeur D'alene, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.  

Fusion

Fusion is our top all around competitive dance company comprised of middle school/ high school dancers and will compete in all facets of dance. These company members will be selected this competition season to compete at the highest level at 3 competitions and 1 convention. Through hard work and dedication they will strive to exceed Dance Elements' highest expectations as our top competition team. Dance Elements is excited to see what the future holds for these dedicated dancers.

Seniors

Kenna Sandler

Kenna Sandler, 18, is a senior at Glacier High School. She was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana. She has been dancing with Amy at Dance Elements since 2010, competing since 2014, and loving every second of it. Throughout her career, Kenna has been a part of Mini Elements, Lil Elements, Elements United, and she is currently in Elements Collide. Aside from dance, Kenna has been active in numerous other extracurriculars which include Speech and Debate, Golf, DECA, Spanish Club, French Club, and more. Next year, Kenna plans to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, MT to pursue a degree in Spanish Language Education and is undecided whether she wants to pursue a French Language degree as well. She also plans to study abroad in Spain to further her immersion into the Spanish Language. Kenna is so thankful for the support her family and friends have shown her throughout her time at Dance Elements. She would especially like to thank her parents, David Sandler and Erika Johnson, for their support by taking her to competitions all these years and their unconditional love. Lots of thanks also goes to her brother, Kjell Sandler (pronounced Shell), who has shown support by playing piano in the lobby at some of the past dance shows and showing lively enthusiasm for Kenna’s dance career. Lastly, Kenna would like to thank Amy Arriaga for helping her flourish within her unique style of dancing, and Joe Arriaga for always being a light in the studio. Even though Kenna is itching to start her adult life, she will miss the friendships and memories that Dance Elements has provided her.

Nakia Davidson

Nakia Davidson, 17, is a senior at Glacier High school. Nakia has experienced living in a variety of places such as Hawaii, South Carolina, California and currently Kalispell, Montana. Nakia discovered the joy of dance 3 years ago and joined the Dance Elements family in the year 2020. Throughout her time at Dance Elements she competed in Elements United, Jr. Movement and is currently in Elite, Movement and Elements Collide. Aside from dance, Nakia participates in training and competing in barrel racing and pole bending, track, choir, art and more. Nakia plans to continue with her passion in dance, and over the summer will be signing with a talent agency, incorporating herself with a professional dance company, and continuing her training. In the year 2025, Nakia will apply for dance universities in New York City to acquire a degree in Choreography and Dance. As well as pursue a career in modeling and expressing her artistic abilities. Nakia Davidson is thankful to get the opportunity to be a part of the company’s that Dance Elements has offered over the years, and is grateful to dance with such talented people. Nakia would like to thank Amy Arriaga, Kate Neumann, Anna Elm, and all the amazing people that have encouraged and aided her in her growth. Without their support Nakia wouldn’t be where she is today. Nakia would also like to give a special thanks to her parents; Sarah Werts and Richard Werts for making this possible for her and allowing her to pursue her passions. Nakia is excited to open a new chapter in her life, and will always remember the experiences and memories she’s made with Dance Elements.

Emma Nyberg

Emma Nyberg is a senior at Glacier High School. She has danced for Amy since 2021 but she danced from 2014 to 2018 previously at a different studio. She is a part of Movement this year. Besides dance, Emma has focused primarily on cheerleading during highschool. Next year Emma will be attending Montana State University in Bozeman to study Nursing. She is a part of the first class of direct entry nursing students to the Mark and Robyn Jones School of Nursing. She plans on trying out for the MSU dance team later this spring. Emma is very thankful for her short time at Dance Elements and how welcoming everyone has been. She would like to thank her parents, Angela Ulrich and Judd Nyberg, along with all of her dance teachers for helping her grow throughout all of her time dancing. She would like to give a special thanks to Amy Arriaga for helping her develop even more as a dancer and giving her amazing opportunities. Emma is very excited to move onto the next chapter of her life however she will truly miss all of the relationships she has made at Dance Elements.

Ava Mendoza

Ava Mendoza, 17, is an early graduate of Whitefish High School as of January 2023. She was born in San Diego, California, and has grown up in Whitefish, Montana since 2008. Ava has danced with Dance Elements since 2010 and has competed since 2013. She has enjoyed every showcase and every competition that she has been a part of. In her time with Dance Elements, Ava has been a part of Mini Elements, Lil Elements, Elements United, and Junior Movement. She is currently a part of Movement, Elements Collide, and Elements Elite. Along with dance, her hobbies include hiking, skiing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Throughout her high school career, Ava was a member of the WHS National Honors Society and the WHS Leo Club. She also founded, alongside a couple of her classmates, the WHS Student Outreach Committee: a committee that focuses on bringing awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. In the fall, Ava will further her education at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, where she plans to pursue a degree in nursing. Ava is beyond grateful for the appreciation and support that her friends and family have shown her throughout all of her endeavors. She would like to thank her parents, Katy and Nick Mendoza, for supporting her no matter what and always being so fun and so positive. She would also like to thank her siblings, Brandon and Mia, for being her best friends and never failing to put a smile on her face. Ava had the privilege of dancing alongside her sister, Mia, and is so grateful to have had someone so inspiring to look up to. Finally, she would like to thank Amy Arriaga for being such a passionate and supportive teacher all these years. Without Amy’s creative and uplifting energy, Ava would not be the dancer that she is today. Dance has been a huge part of Ava’s life and has encouraged so many important values such as teamwork, integrity, kindness, and friendship. Being a part of the Dance Elements family has provided Ava with countless memories and so many friendships. She will truly miss the environment and the people as she starts this next chapter of her life.
